Welcome to Bainton Bikes Limited website.
We are a friendly family run business based in the beautiful city of Oxford. We specialise in bike hire and bike tours of our famous city, all at the best price available.
Oxford, famous for its Universities and the dreaming spires is home to one of Britain’s largest cycling communities. All over the city you will find streets accessible only to pedestrians and cyclists and every day the diverse mix of bikes and people orientate themselves to work, for leisure and some even for exercise.
Bainton Bikes Limited is the labour of love of Kevin and Honour. It all started in a cold damp garage at their home in Bainton Road, Oxford where the first hire bikes were built. In 2010 Bainton Bikes merged with Walton Street Cycles combining a bicycle hire and tours specialists with one of Oxford’s oldest and most skilled independent bike shops.
Today we have one of the largest hire fleets in the UK and also offer a wider range of bikes available for hire than anyone else.
In 2011 we joined a partnership with First Great Western trains with the goal of expanding integrated travel between bikes and trains. In addition to our city shop we now have hire and repair points at Oxford train station, opening from 06:30 until 19:30.
We also became the first ever cycle tours operator in the United Kingdom to become an accredited Quality Assured Visitor Attraction by the Nationwide tourist board Enjoy England
